comment .htaccess in subdir gets ignored by Wordpress' own .htaccess in /
Yes both are true, as this works if the file and the .htaccess are moved to a different vhost that doesn't have Wordpress but is still under the same Apache

comment Is it possible to format a hard-drive too often?
Just a biased comment you can ignore: There are great OSes that don't require that much of you, for example, MacOS or Linux.

@Randolf: The wrong name for about:config type addresses

Yeah that's what I currently do, Ctrl-W Ctrl-T. If it had a chrome address, I guess you could make a shortcut to it.

@paradroid: Don't know if you are refering to the same OS I have (MacOS 10.6) but I don't have such a path. I have ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Presets though.

comment TV-out worked, now doesn't. May the problem be the cable, TV, driver, OS, graphic card?
Thanks. TV settings: it has none relevant to this issue, the menu is very simple. Ports: yes, both outputs and inputs are the same that used to work. No other possibilities. Gonna check the rest.

Thanks, but this function is there for a reason, so one doesn't have to do what you describe. It should work but it's not working. Thanks anyway.

Right. Something similar happened in the other question, I don't know if we aren't explaining ourselves clear enough but nobody seems to reply what we asked.

comment MacOSX - Is it possible to have two internet connections on the same computer?
I guess OP has his main connection through ethernet, and a 'generous' neighbor is 'willing' to 'share' their wi-fi connection with OP. Kind of what happens to me. So, is this possible?

comment Does downloading the same torrent from more than one server increase the sources / seeds?
I never knew exactly if the tracker was the website where you get the torrent from or a separate server. Anyway, what I meant is, does getting the same torrent from (say) mininova AND isohunt make a difference, or is it the same? I don't know, maybe you get the same torrent from both sites but the torrent has the same tracker info inside and getting both doesn't make any difference. eztv.it for example, lists more than one link for the same torrent, I always click two or three but wonder if it's of any help.

comment Safe to manually delete backed-up files from Time Machine? TM takes for ever to delete backups
Ok the process was taking like one hour, I went away 3 hours and now it's done, so it must have taken from 1 to 4 hours. I was deleting like 10 GB from the initial backup so maybe it made sense that it took so long, although deleting such big files shouldn't take that long, if it's just deleting, but obviously TM is doing something else which takes so long
