Well, I asked the doctor if I could see you
It's bad for your health, he said
Yes, I disobeyed his orders
I came to see you
But I found him there instead
You know, I don't mind him cheatin' on me
But I sure wish he'd take that off his head

comment How do I make Windows-L hotkey activate my screen saver while locking the workstation?
Thanks very much for your answer. It turns out that the screen saver does turn on after a certain amount of time on the "unlocking" screen, which is probably good enough for me.

comment Cisco IP communicator unreliable for incoming calls - IP address conflict?
I have had some network flapping in the last few days (where my entire LAN connection would disconnect/reconnect) but this is the first time I have seen this error message. However, the soft phone has been unreliable for a very long time.

The only problem is that the Treo uses a proprietary connector (on the Treo side).

comment Certain web pages are suddenly not rendering properly in FireFox
It turned out to be a combination of my proxy sending me a cached copy of the CSS, and an adblock rule blocking the CSS. Disabling and re-enabling AdBlock, and forcing a refresh seemed to solve the problem. Thanks!

@Hugh - Actually, I'm a software developer so I may be able to give that a go. Thanks :-)

comment Apparent leak in Mozilla Firefox
Thanks David - I have been restarting as a solution to this problem, but it feels like a workaround more than a solution. I guess one answer is to use Chrome which creates a separate process for each tab :-)

Thanks for your answer - I don't have that add-on, but I have updated my question with the add-ons (and versions) I have installed. Do you know if there are any issues with any of those?

comment Is there a way to see all songs in iTunes which have “Skip when shuffling” option enabled?
Thanks Josh, but Chris is right. I already have a playlist to pick up "unchecked tracks" but it's "exclude from shuffle" that I'm having trouble with.

comment Most helpful background app?
@Jason - Holy crap good, or holy crap bad? I love this application, but it's a bit unstable. It tends to crash and have to restart every 10 or so commands. I haven't checked if there's a newer version out though.

comment What would cause the “Wireless Zero Configuration” to fail to start up?
Possibly, but I have had this laptop for many years (3-4) and only recently it has started playing up - and I haven't installed any additional software recently. It could be spyware that I didn't choose to install though.

@pavsaund - I added the event viewer messages. @Ivo - Yes, windows XP.

comment What would cause the “Wireless Zero Configuration” to fail to start up?
Actually, Wireless Zero Configuration is the native XP service which manages this. I have Intel ProSet installed too, but by default that is disabled and WZC is used instead. I wonder if there's a clash between the 2 programs?

comment Does any software exist for Windows XP to change the order of items in the taskbar?
I've been using this for so long I forgot that I had it installed. It works so smoothly, you don't even realise that it's there :)
