comment How to remove a rogue extension labelled “Installed by enterprise policy”
@MrPablo Worked perfectly for me, it was in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome\ExtensionInstallForcelist. I'd suggest following FlameStream's second recommendation, search the registry and file system for the ID and delete the directory (probably in the C:\ProgramData directory)

I am a little curious as to why the icon can be hidden if you disable chrome running in the background. Since you can get to all the settings that the icon gives you from Chrome's settings menus you'd think they'd give you an option to hide that icon.

I ran a heat monitor during the jumps. none of the temperature monitors went up at all. The GPU (which seems to be the impetus for the CPU increase) is one of the coolest components, actually got cooler during one bump

It's not overheating.

sorry, understatement not overstatement. The keyboard managed to dislodge itself. I'll probably end up having to send it back if it continues.

Gently is a big overstatement. EVERYTHING is working fine though, except for a few graphics intensive games so I was hoping it would be something simple. I didn't want to be without it for too long.

The CPU is hitting 100% and everything starts...jittering.
