I'm a student in the Internet Applications Programmer program at Algonquin College. Yes, the program's name is far too verbose, in my experience that's the custom at Algonquin.
I began programming in 2006 after a bit of post-secondary meandering, and here's a quick sum up of that:
I use vim, write Python, PHP, C#, and studying anything to do with programming will always be a hobby of mine, as it has the past three years. That's about all you need to know about me, unless you want to offer me a project to contribute to, or even better a job. I'm currently on the lookout for anything involving Python, and I'm on hold devouring a book on C while the school year is in. My training is in C# primarily, but it isn't my langue de choix, and isn't something I spend most of my time on (though forking and doing something with Muine is on my list of things to do.)
I began programming in 2006 after a bit of post-secondary meandering, and here's a quick sum up of that:
My background begins with a long history of computer assisted design work using Autodesk's AutoCAD software throughout high school. After graduating I did a year of Philosophy at the University of Ottawa before returning to high school, re-doing a few courses and working a co-op position at an architectural firm. During that time, I made a switch to Linux as my main OS, which led to a few months of the usual Linux advocation that's so common among new users, but moreover an immense interest in learning to program. I then applied to Algonquin College for the Interactive Media Developer program, and transitioned into my current program after the first year in order to focus on programming.tl;dr: I went on a journey and wound up writing C#.
