That's true, I suppose that could be a workaround. Thanks

Also, the reason I can't download the song again is because Google Play limits you to two downloads per song.

It wasn't streaming...like I said the file was downloaded but only to Temporary Internet Files because I didn't click Save As in IE. I just want to know if there is a file-like menu in Windows 8

Ok I have tested the drive and there was an actual problem with it. Not sure of the technical details but I ran a chkdsk /F and that fixed it. Thanks everyone.

My first comment says that I do not want to boot from it, as I already am booting from my SSD. In that case, it might be that there is a problem with the hardware itself. I will have to test it then in another system to be sure of this...

Ok, that makes sense. But, if I change it back to legacy then won't the OS not start up at all because it's GPT? (I'm not trying to boot from the SATA HDD, just use it as a slave for storage, so the only bootable drive would be the SSD) Is there any way I can change the secondary HDD to GPT at this point?

UPDATE: This turned out to be Microsoft's fault, not Best Buy's! Details in my edited post!

@RobertHarvey: Best Buy's. The sales person was nice, but misguided about which version I asked for, and I was quite specific, too...

And Robert, thanks a lot for sticking up for me! Yes, I legally purchased this software and was definitely given the wrong version! Why punish the good guys?

Your answer helped me solve this, Keltari. Microsoft walked me through a kind of back-door activation process and it worked! The phone number I used, though, was different. I started from 888-352-7140 (although it was quite a journey from there). Thank you so much for saving me from a trip (probably a futile one at that) to Best Buy.
