comment In Emacs, how does one add custom TrueType fonts to ps-print?
I know nothing about emacs, but have you tried it without the dashes, eg "Consolas Bold"?

comment How to configure Thunderbird to connect to an IMAP email account
There are a lot of questions on SuperUser tagged with Thunderbird and IMAP, those might help. What mail server are you trying to connect to? Some mail servers use non-standard SSL ports (Gmail, for example), so you might want to check to see if the mail server has any specific instructions for setting up IMAP.

comment How can I set one browser to use JRE 1.5 and another to use JRE 1.6?
I've run into an issue with some software we use at work that requires Java 1.6u22. Upgrading to 1.6u24 causes the application to completely not work (not just some features, the program wouldn't even launch), so now a bunch of PCs in my office are running a 6-month old version of Java until the vendor gets around to updating the software.
