comment Fake windows update
On a related note, malware has been known to hide behind trusted software to get past UAC prompts. For example, ZeroAccess would attach itself to an Adobe Flash Player installer so that the UAC prompt would look legitimate and you'd be like, "Oh it's just Flash updating again..." and click through.

You may have to run mount.cifs instead of mount -t cifs.

comment USB drive not showing full size
After you select clean, you can go into the Disk Management interface (right click on Computer and select Manage) to format. You must do a FAT32 format, after which Windows will see the size correctly and you can then format to whatever file system you want (e.g., NTFS or exFAT or whatever you have available).

comment How to test thousands of MP3 files whether they're playable?
Hitting next a few thousand times might not be enough, either. Once when I recovered a lot of music years ago I went through each song manually and verified it was playable. I didn't find out until later that many of the songs were messed up in the middle, like they got spliced with another song for anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute. Fun.
