comment Notepad ignoring linebreaks
if you have Sublime installed, you can choose View->Line endings -> Windows and then save the file to overwrite it. In this case unix line endings will turn into Windows format. If you open this saved file in Notepad, it will show line endings correctly.

No changes so far. My wife's notebook is still using Windows 7 and her Wifi connectivity is fine. Mine is unstable since the OS change :-(

comment Windows 8 freezes up after ten minutes
I also suspect it is something related to hidden updates being done by Chrome, since there are no other softwares consuming the CPU, you can see in task manager hidden processes (on Details tab) for Chrome, and each one is a plugin.

comment When AC Power is disconnected, atibtmon.exe throws a Runtime error
I love these tricks. I will have a go and let you know! I forgot to mention that AMD support told me there is nothing they could do to help me: "Unfortunately, you graphics adapter is based on our legacy support. Which means will not be releasing any new updates based on that graphics adapter. Amd may come out with a hot fix for this driver but as of right now there are no plans.".

comment When AC Power is disconnected, atibtmon.exe throws a Runtime error
In Windows 8, I went to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options, and tried "Dell Recommended", "Balanced", "High performance". None worked, because after removing the power cord, the atibtmon.exe keeps crashing. I will dig extra info on internet to see if there is something that I could do. :-(

comment Why hibernate Windows 8?
I am really upset with Windows 8. I enabled the Hibernate option in Power Options, and every day I resume notebook from Hibernation, the battery has been consumed (almost 5%). This is really annoying. In Windows 7 this problem did not happen.

comment Youtube asking to update Flash Player?
Hmm, there was no update message. When you click on Youtube link to update, it takes you to the site to download flash player again. It seems flash is not working on any site.

comment Any good mp3 volume normalizer?
Well I run MP3Gain again setting all files to 90db. Forced some louder files to sound below 90db. But since I found a way in ITunes to "unset" music volume, everything seems to be working now.

comment Any good mp3 volume normalizer?
Yes sound check here is checked. I think there is something to do with IPod. No matter I try to fix my mp3 files with MP3Gain, when I resynch all files, the louder ones keep on louder. The firmware is update so I don't know what to do. Only 2 albums keep louder than it should be. Playing in IPod is annoying because of volume differences, but when playing in PC you see no difference between volumes.
