@TobiasKienzler - I have worked in security for years. It would be ridiculously hard to reproduce a major website's dynamic data, let alone a couple to prove a point. Videoing screens is the normal way to deal with legal issues. It is the perfect remedy for small issues like this - quick and very to the point. Also it lets the other parties know that you have something permanent to use against them.

@TobiasKienzler - I am giving advice based on what lawyers at my company ask. For instance we have very large contracts for SaaS vendors. If they have a bug they haven't fixed we simply record the issue through video. I am the one that has got stuck doing this more than a few times. I would simply hit a site like msn.com or yahoo.com and click on a few things to verify date/time and then I move onto the site - and I usually log on as 2 different users.

@TobiasKienzler - I would have a proxy mimic ebay's database and login process? I don't even understand what you are talking about.

comment My colleague often shuts down my machine through the LAN - how do I prevent it?
This is a really serious answer. Not sure the situation is THAT serious. Who said the OP ever really works. He is on this site complaining for hours. Could have shut his ass down 50 times in the time he spent on SU. I would change his office dictionary file so he spells every common word (look at his old emails) wrong. Also change "thanks" to "thanks for nothing".

That worked. Backed up and scanned. Took about 15 minutes to go through and about a minute to repair.

comment How does Windows 7 restore take up disk space?
no. I used to clean computers for extra cash in college and this one totally has me stumped. Never dug into the W7 restore functionality because I have my own backup of files to a content server... but once I played around with it after issue - it sucks. I check marked to save my docs, videos, music folders. Well if My Music is checkmarked it tried to backup my "Music" folder which is 400GB and on another drive - it is local. So I am guessing it tried to backup inetpub stuff because My Documents was checked. Some stuff can't be copied (my setting) so big logs!

Also why the **** would the W7 restore hit my inetpub files? I have only selected my user's docs and videos. Can't stand this functionality.

Thanks William. It was my restore hitting my inetpub folder trying to copy files that I have special perms on and then writing over and over to the log files. Holy cow 60GB of log files. Didn't even think to check because it is a dev machine that usually has 1MB of log files a year.
