I write too much Perl.

I'm an independent contractor specializing in Perl, automated testing and software engineering training. If you have a nasty snarl of critical Perl code untangled, or need a perl or CPAN module bug fixed, or want to train your developers in writing tests, or find your development time is in a code 'n' fix loop and need help, I'm your man.

comment How do I get the Dell 3007wfphc monitor to do other resolutions?
I'd poked at the custom resolution thing and it gave me DIRE WARNINGS that they could not be held responsible for what happened next. Not wanting to open a 30" portal to Hell (even the smaller demons that can squeeze through can be trouble) I demurred. Also its a borrowed monitor so I don't feel as cavalier as if it were my own. ANYWAY if it worked for you I'll give it a shot. But first... AVAUNT!!! Ok, you're not a demon here to trick me.

Video over cat-5 I hadn't known about! Seems it works with HDMI as well, solving the audio problem. There's "passive" (dozens of dollars) and "active" (hundreds of dollars) versions. Throw a wireless bridge in between... And I hadn't considered doing a/v over special hardware but input over the LAN. Thanks, this gives me a lot to chew on.
