comment Sparse file performance on Windows with an SSD
Okay, fair enough. What I'm asking for is if anyone can give concrete information on how well sparse files work with SSDs, not simply speculation. Has anyone tested it using them extensively, for example, and then checked to see how much write amplification there was (manufacturer's offer tools that let you do that) or how much performance degradation there was (should be near zero)?

comment differences between firmware, chipset and EPROM inside a computer
All true. EEPROM generally refers to an older style of storage device though, rather than the flash memory chips used in SSDs. Of course in practice the technology is similar, but for example flash memory usually has a higher bad bit rate than EEPROM. EPROM is similar to EEPROM, but can't be erased electronically.

comment Bitlocker Performance Impact on SSD
There will be some noticeable degradation of performance. Even if your CPU can encrypt gigabytes of data per second, there is still a time penalty for doing so on every read or write, and a CPU load penalty. How bad this is depends entirely on the application, but it is easily measurable in benchmarks and noticeable in real world applications.

comment Ethernet audio transmitter for long ranges?
We need more information on your requirements. Would streaming compressed MP3 audio, or even uncompressed FLAC, over the internet be an option? Presumably you don't intend to lay a 300km ethernet cable so it sounds like what you are asking is if you can make an existing ethernet based system work over the internet.

comment How to clean (re)install of Windows 8 OEM to a new SSD?
Look for an ISO with the SHA1 hash 1F18420D65956DFE56E2359DA71AB6C363146570. That is the one you need and should be easy to download.

You can't install an OEM copy the way you want to. The key won't work with anything other than an OEM copy of Windows. You will need to obtain an OEM disc.
