comment Generate a recovery key for a FileVault
How positive are about that information? The program fdesetup has a command changerecovery which says "Change or add recovery key", I'm just not 100% sure of how it works yet.

comment Yosemite update crashed and now won't finished
This laptop came with an SSD and now has a bigger one that I just put in and with command-r I can trigger the re-installation of Mountain Lion. I'm looking for alternatives to doing that again.

@slhck, yes, I could, but this was setting up a brand new hard drive from said backup. I'd need to restart the whole process from scratch and the owner of the MacBook is already very annoyed that Migration Assistant doesn't work.

@elofturtle thanks, I found the right answer there.

comment Mountain Lion's Migration Assistant not seeing USB hard drive
I connected the drive to a USB/SATA adaptor, turned it on, plugged it and then entered the FileVault password when prompted. No proprietary stuff beyond Apple's here.

It was named enterprise before and there are no other machines named enterprise on this network.

@Jason because this is for computers that are used as workstations (to turn into dashboards when they are not being used) and for the ones that are dedicated dashboards, I want them locked.

I cannot try Desktopr because it's available only in the US (not in the UK). It's produced by Sandwhichlab, same as WebSaver, so, their site is down. Website Wallpaper surprised me with the fact that it works as a screensaver. Unfortunately, it only seems to allow one page, not a rotating set.

@NathanTaylor their web site seems not to be working. I found a WebSaver in code.google.com, but it only accepts one web page to display and I'm not sure how to set up the session for it.

It would be possible if the screensaver could be run as an app, like IdleWeb, or if the screensaver shared the session with Chrome or Safari.

Would that include field names? Any way to avoid doing it table by table?

comment Is there any program or way to make Mac OS X's ⌘-tab behave like Windows' alt-tab?
I did use "thinking differently" for over two years, it tires my finger. Thanks for the recommendations, looks like they are exactly what I was looking for.

comment Is there a way to open all items in a folder in Chrome on Mac OS X?
I'm always current, my issue was trying on the macosx top bar bookmark menu, where right click doesn't do anything. I've enabled the bookmark bar like you did and using that now.
