comment Windows 7 can't reboot from hibernation
Sounds like a driver issue. Problematic start ups and shutdowns almost are always caused by suspect drivers.

comment Why won't my Windows 8 Command line update its path
It wouldn't surprise me that this is an implementation detail and that Microsoft had no intentions of supporting this behavior in Windows 8 or above.

revised On Windows 7, is there a command prompt line that can start cmd as an administrator?
The built-in Administrator is disabled by default on Domain joined computers.

comment Is there any 'sudo' command for Windows?
@barlop: You should look up how UAC works. The Administrator account, by default, auto elevates process to Admin permissions. It's a coincidence that it works with the Administrator account. Use any other account in the Administators group with runas and your program won't get Admin permissions by default.

comment Can't extend desktop to 4th monitor
You need to include your graphics card and what ports your monitors are plugged into. All graphic cards and motherboards only support multiple monitors in certain configurations

comment Is dynamic DNS for remote desktop secure?
I believe the question was in the context of Remote Desktop, RDP, and not direct connections to a file server, like SMB. IMO, portable drives are a bad alternative as it is more expensive and you have to deal with sync problems. (Do I have the latest copy?)

comment Virtual memory vs. Virtual address space
I think it is a very good analogy considering most people reading the answer are coming from the space of "what does virtual memory and virtual memory address space mean to me as a average user". Now if this is stackoverflow, then this analogy would not suffice and the question itself would need more context. Keep in mind this is Superuser, not Device Driver programmers group.

I wouldn't say it is a "mistake" to open a port. A process would need to authenticate to suck down info. Maybe it is a mistake in cetain enterprise setting, but it is perfectly acceptable in a small business setting where time and money is too limited to setup a VPN.
