comment Easier way to switch sound output device
If anyone gets here from search, both utils seem to be gone. There's a command-line tool created by SO member, see stackoverflow.com/a/181187/38557. You'd have to compile it yourself, tough.

comment Can gedit on mac be used to edit files over ssh?
Thanks, @romainl, that's actually the best solution IMHO. I've been using TextWrangler for 3 years and never noticed it can do that.

comment osx: how to manage Services menu, reorder items?
Definately. There are things starting with C below those starting with O. There's U above and below O, etc.

comment windows 7 desktop icons: new icon placement
Well, Fences is somewhat of an overkill for my needs, but it gets the job done: I created a fence for Computer, Recycle Bin, etc.

Xantec: of course I can, but it's annoying to have to do it a few times a day. In XP, new files always appeared last.
