Yeah, and I don't want to fry this processor. Damn, so I really just need a bigger case.

The PSU does not clear the heatsink + the fan. It will clear the heatsink alone. The position of the 120mm fan would be appox. 2 inches away from the heatsink.

To that note, would a 120mm fan in this arrangement offer enough airflow if I removed the 40mm fan from the heatsink? That would give me enough clearance to put the PSU back in, though it does significantly hamper airflow...

Yeah, I would like to ultimately get the PSU back in the chasis, though I'm worried that I won't be able to find a heatsink with a small enough clearance. That photo above doesn't look like it has a heatsink on the CPU...

@user88311 The DVD drive just clears the heatsink assembly -- again, this is the design of the case (very small, Mini-ITX)

@CarlB CPU fan is the only fan in the case now. I've got my cables mostly out of the way of the fan, but it's impossible to get them any more removed given the design of the case. I would've thought the additional empty space above it (where the PSU should be) would give it more ventilation.

There is a clamp, though it's hard to see without taking the DVD drive out. In the first photo, you see that little black piece of plastic to the left of the heatsink? That's the clamp mechanism.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the stock heatsink came with the thermal paste pre-applied; all I did was stick it on the processor (no plastering or lathering or whatever). Also, added photos above...

Looked silver-based, but the box didn't specify, so I can't say for sure. Again, it's whatever paste AMD would ship it with for this processor.

I'm using the stock heatsink/fan (pre-applied thermal paste). I'll see about getting that photo... and yes, the heatsink and fan are installed on the processer, I just moved the PSU to the outside of the case.
