executables on external hard drive detect as viruses Microsoft Security essentials doesn't slow down the system because it has no I/O filters whatsoever. It defends only against the most common threats and can't be considered a real endpoint security solution. I've seen way too many infected machines with MSE giving it a green status. |

executables on external hard drive detect as viruses To analyse the issue I need the signatures that the Antivirus detected on the drive. They should be stated under "threat name" or something similar in the antivirus reports. |

When I delete files in Windows 7 they are not immediately deleted, do I have malware? I highly advise against any form of registry cleaners without any proper knowledge of registry function and hive structure. Automatic registry cleaners usually do more harm than good. |

What can I do to resolve a cng.sys error while booting? There should be no difference if you upgrade the bios from x64 or x86 system. If you can't boot into the system - try to access the files from a Linux LiveCD. Also, you can update the bios by other means, like a floppy - refer to your motherboard manufacturer site for details. |

Can Windows Essentials Remove the JS/Alescurf.C Virus from a Windows PC? Please, stop recommending Malwarebytes as an AntiVirus, it is by no means a real endpoint protection. While it can catch some of the most common Malware, it lacks the necessary i/o interception and network scanning to catch anything more serious. |
