Currently doing micromagnetics simulation @Physics of Surface and Interface, Dept. of Mat. Sci. & Eng., Grad. School of Eng., Osaka U.

Current interests:

What got me stumped recently:

  • Just couldn't figure out how to solve things just by scans in Theano metaprogramming language too)
  • Doesn't have the foresight to determine whether C++ template metaprogramming is worth the time invested in learning it.

gdipp 0.9.1 has some unresolved font metrics bugs, so I'm unable to imitate your style with success. Your style uses embolden, but if I enable that, some letters have their last 2 pixel widths cut off. Maybe you should use Helium, available at the link I gave earlier.

Can you post the related gdi++.ini entries on your question? The freetype edition has it under [Freetype], the Helium edition may have it under [Rasterize] and [Misc] as well, while the original edition probably has everything under [General].

comment Can I modify cmd.exe or PowerShell behavior so that tab autocomplete doesn't clear everything after the caret?
Hooray! A lightweight (it really starts up fast!) command console with just what I need! Except that you were a bit too late; I already installed Cygwin :( But thanks for pointing to Console2! (I wonder why it defaults to insert mode at first) (Note to self: preinstall TCC/LE on the next Windows box)

comment What's the proper way to use each style in office suites?
@Dennis The page tells you how to apply styles in the application. Which is good for a beginner to Office apps who's already had prior knowledge about styling (like in, for example, publications). But for someone who knows nothing about styles in writing, where can he learn about when to use different heading levels, when to style a span of words as definition, etc? It's like owning a tool, knowing how to use it but not where to use it (properly).

I had a brief look at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPU_power_dissipation and noticed the "idle power contributes significantly to overall system power usage", which is my suspicion. But the following sentence "CPU uses power management features" seems to agree with yours, though I wonder if HLT instruction is considered one.

comment Does Windows keep list of dependencies for installed programs and framework
Well, I removed the whole .NET 4 framework, which Visual Studio 2010 Express requires, and it didn't prompt me to uninstall Visual Studio. But .NET itself had to be uninstalled in certain steps i.e. I couldn't remove the multi platform targeting before some other .NET parts. So maybe it is there for some programs, but mostly it is not there.
