comment VirtualBox 64 bit guest VM stopped working after upgrade
That's exactly what I was looking for. +1 for clear question topic that makes it easy to find. BTW, to disable Hyper-V, search the start menu for "Turn Windows features on and off"

@adam mod+d and then type in gksudo synaptic hit ENTER and you'll be prompted for password. All works like charm.

Not really. Look at this file git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/bash.git/tree/shell.c, in run_startup_files() function where SYS_BASHRC is used, defined in git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/bash.git/tree/config-top.h

+1 it is a working solution, but with minor correction: AutoRun is not a key, but value of type of string.
