I graduated from Washington State University in Computer Science (undergrad + masters). I've spent over 10 years in software development for a National Laboratory, a startup engineering company, and a nuclear processing plant. This has provided me with a diverse set of experiences and skills. I have worked extensively in such technologies as C++ (w/ MFC, STL, & Boost), C#, Python, and Qt. I'm also quite familiar with VB.Net, HTML/XML, SQL, Java, and Open Inventor as well as tools like Visual Studio, JIRA, and Subversion. I have a strong background in mathematics & graphics and have delved into graph & network theory, information visualization, data analytics, SCADA/HMIs, and artificial intelligence. I'm a Windows expert with Linux/Mac experience.

Also, I'm not quite as old as I look.

comment The Windows 7 Home Premium ISO file is corrupt
@Ramhound: I didn't mean to offend you (as you can see in my comment, I said I was "sure you didn't intend to screw me up.") I downloaded ImgBurn from two different sites (cnet & softpedia, IIRC)and they both added crapware that I had to clean up. Clearly it was my bad for choosing untrustworthy distributors. But may I suggest that if you recommend that software again, perhaps you could include a link to a clean download source. But again, I'm sorry to insult you (I let my frustration get the better of me). I realy appreciate you taking the time to try to help me in the first place.

If anyone else comes on this page, I hope you see this warning: DO NOT DOWNLOAD ImgBurn!! It hijacked all of the browsers on my machine and tried to install truckloads of crapware as well. Plus it can't burn to USBs which was what I clearly asked for in my post. I'm sure Ramhound didn't intentionally mean to screw me up, but the ImgBurn recommendation cost me an hour or more of clean-up time, trying to get all that junk off my system.

Turns out the vendor I purchased from was using the same link. So the ISO file is identical (I confirmed by checking the MD5 hash with this tool.) I've seen others online complaining about the same ISO file (X17-58997.iso) and wondering if it could possibly be corrupt.

Sweet. I'm grabbing it now & will try. Thanks. What is the .img file? All I see are links to .iso files.

The ISO is approx 2.6 GB. I have already purchased the Win7 ISO, so I don't really need links to other files, unless they are available for free.

That's a better answer than mine, so I'll give you the Accepted Solution credit (which should also give you the rep you need to add pics). Thanks!

comment In Outlook 2013, the reading pane does not display images correctly for most emails (but does for some)
Does this just occur in the Reading Pane? That is, do the images appear when you open the email?

comment Copy as path with auto-hyperlink
I agree with you: it's a pain. One slight shortcut: Do the Copy as path, then paste the quoted path, then select the entire thing (either with or without the quotes), then Ctrl-K, Ctrl-V, Enter. This won't eliminate the quotes, but it will make the whole thing a hyperlink, it's fairly painless, and the quotes don't matter.

I always navigate to the directory then copy the address bar. (Pasting then creates the hyperlink automatically.) Does that not work for you?

which part can't you see? Can you create the hyperlink? Do you know how to edit the link?
