I telecommute. I'm also hopeless at talking about myself. So, get to know me if you want to know.
I have a habit of repeatedly editing my post to try make it clearer, err corrections, and be more informative.
Also, I might just start "upgrading" code I see using old Perl styles. You'll probably thank me because it appears to get you more votes.

That link is dated '03. Linux 2.6 came out since then. ( You'll note they're using 2.0 , Ouch.) The metrics appear to be now somewhat different in practice than the ones stated on that page.

comment Does anyone know the temperature ranges one can expect on a core2 duo
If its Bailing under 60, your problems sure ain't directly overtemp related. Electrics most likely to blame imho. Please report PSU Brand name, that component has in my experience been the #1 cause of computer problems.

my T9300 goes from 45°C to 95°C, I was scared when it got that hot, but it keeps on trucking.

Technically, that's not HDR, that technique skips the HDR phase and goes straight to tonemapping. Images produced from Tonemapping are LDR's. Technically, we don't own screens capable of displaying HDR images, because they're 32bit floats, and we're stuck with 32bit ints, and of that, its only 24bit colour usually.

comment How to delete specific HTTP authentication credentials from Safari (for Windows)?
By that I mean, there is no way at all to "Log out" once logged in normally without a browser reset.

comment How to delete specific HTTP authentication credentials from Safari (for Windows)?
An answer to this would be nice, I get this in Firefox too and its quite bothersome. The only way I've found so far requires me to have access to the sites code to delete the authentication server-side and force re-auth :(

comment shell dotfiles and *rcs: what's a sane setup?
Although this answer doesn't directly help, it inspired me to think of "How about make a nonsense file that nothing recognises such as ~/.my_shell_conf and then just source it by your different shell scripts where it makes sense to "

1) Prompt is governed by ENV variables (as above). 2) su starts a subshell and erases its parent ENV variables. 3) the child subshell inherits ENV varibles from the initialisation script for the user the shell as running as ( david ).

But some commands, if executed in a non-terminal holding shell, can make logging into that account impossible.
