comment Disable word completion dialog when pressing escape in Safari
Do you have any extensions enabled? I'm running Safari 5.0 (6533.16) for Mac OS X 10.6, following your steps precisely, and I'm exiting the search rather than getting spell-check.

The execute bit is set for all of those directories, but I don't know how to check if a specific user has been denied access.

comment 403 Forbidden Error on Mac OS X Localhost
Sorry, just to double check, I should be visiting localhost/~myusername/index.html and have a file called index.html in my Sites folder, right? If so, then the 403 is still happening.

comment How to force Mac to into dirty shutdown state on every power off?
@ghostsource Right. Do both the "Start Up or Wake" and the "Start up automatically after a power failure". The first setting boots the computer up for a proper shutdown and the second boots it up in case of ungraceful shutdown.

comment How to force Mac to into dirty shutdown state on every power off?
@ghostsource What if you also check "Start up automatically after a power failure"? Doesn't that cover all methods of shutdown?
