comment Windows: Toggle front or back audio jack using software?
My speakers did switch off when I plugged my headphones in. Then I disabled "front panel jack detection" and now they're both on. Now I turn the speakers on/off via their (physical) power buttons - sort of a workaround for my problem.

Thanks. I tried that already. I only see a single playback device called "Speakers" (Realtek High Definition Audio). No reference to headphones or to back/front panel.

comment Easiest way to move my Windows installation to an SSD?
Thanks. This unofficial article indicates that ImageX is indeed included in Windows ADK and is still used in Windows 8 / 8.1.

Will this solution hold for Windows 8.1. I can only find Windows AIK for Windows 7/Vista - will that work for Windows 8.1? Tx.

revised How to install Windows 8 without the setup DVD that came with my notebook?
Updated question to reflect that it is not about migrating an exisiting installation, but rather installing a fresh one.

Actually, Windows command line iterates through completion options - This is where I've gotten used to this functionality :)
