Hi Skizz, first you need to establish if your kernel is configured to 'capture' a crash dump. For ubuntu, research "dumputils". Also the 'panic string' might be in the syslog (/var/log/messages) - there should be a 'stack trace' - this will help narrow things down.

Thanks for your reply. I understand this. However, on Win NT 5.1, the throughput is much greater compared to Linux (as per above). I suspect disabling IPv6 to improve performance?

You are planning to convert from lossy to lossy - you are loosing quality! Best to get hold of the original uncompressed/modified form then convert straight to 3gp for best possible quality.
