comment Trying convert webserver certificate to PEM file for wireshark to monitor ssl traffic in HTTP format
The handshaking between server and client is more detailed than I can describe in a comment - have a look at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_Layer_Security for more details. If they key/certificate are unencrypted, then you can just copy and paste them both into the same file. Have a look at madboa.com/geek/openssl for more.

comment How to create a fourth level wildcard subdomain DNS record ?
A quick google throws up support.dnsmadeeasy.com/…. Never used them, so I can't help further unfortunately.

comment OSX: The item XYZ.txt~ can’t be moved to the Trash because it can’t be deleted
I've no experience of OSX as such, but bear in mind that when you're running sudo from a terminal, it's going to look in the current directory, not necessarily where the file XYZ.txt~ is. I'm guessing this is the source of your No such file of directory errors.

comment Cannot symlink MyISAM databases
Not sure if this would cause the error, but does the mysql user have access to the /ude/repo/site-nameX/db directories?

comment How to create a fourth level wildcard subdomain DNS record ?
What are you using to serve out DNS records? If it's bind, it should be straightforward enough.

comment Use both OpenVPN & eth0 together
Apologies - I made a typo in my previous comment - instead of ! --dports 80,443, try --dports 80,443 - i.e., without the ! before --dports.

comment Use both OpenVPN & eth0 together
iptables -L will only show you the standard table - you want iptables -t nat -L. To do the opposite of what I said, you could do iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 10.10.98.0/24 ! -d 10.10.98.0/24 -p tcp -m multiport ! --dports 80,443 -j SNAT --to-source 10.100.98.4

comment DD-WRT OpenVPN client - cannot get “lan” connected device to route traffic
No problem. I'd start by adding a log line to the end of all your iptables chains, and see if anything's being dropped.
