I work for a small bioinformatics company and I build websites and applications. I'm currently focused on Python and Django. I love to make my sites/apps responsive, and I'm very interested in software usability.

comment Deleting a partition on dual boot
Back up songs on the K partition to an external source (good idea anyway, if you are messing with the drive that houses these files). Then back up all your valuable data elsewhere. If you have the Windows Server boot disc, the cleanest way to do all this would be to start from scratch and reformat the entire disc and install Windows Server on the front of the drive. This also will allow you to create new partitions... This forum had some interesting ideas: forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/…

comment Easiest way to go to your previous location in a large word document
If your sections are named something unique (like Chapter 1, 2, etc...), you can search for that section, Ctrl + F.

comment How to show declined meeting on Outlook calendar
Is it possible to create a manual appointment for yourself with the reminders, and then simply dismiss these when you can't attend? I personally have had trouble making Outlook 2007 do the right thing in calendar events too. Maybe a work around is the best way to get what you want...

comment 1 TB hdd and no space to create a partition for linux !
Have you tried creating partitions in Windows, using a tool such as Partition Magic from Symantec? You may be able to create the appropriate partitions in Windows first, and then install Linux after... I think the live CD showed a temp partition for booting from disk. You didn't create any partitions using the live CD did you?

comment Make IE stop asking me to install adobe flash player
I didn't know this board was for taking stabs at people. You know as well as I do that the analogy you made is not even close to what I suggested. It is generally well accepted that IE is less secure as a browser (not to mention, not up to the web standards). It was a polite suggestion, no more.

Ah, I see... My apologies. I see what you mean. Have you ventured over to the Google Help Forum?

Also, if you are running Outlook, for example, you can click Help > Activate Product. This should activate all the Office suite products.

Why not just convert to using Chrome or Firefox? Then you can have Shockwave Flash installed, but then you can disable it. Any alt graphic content (like SWFObject stuff) will show up but Flash content will not.

Ssvarc - I can successfully export using the other option (see answer). Your comment helped me think about how to get around my problem. Thanks.

After getting it to work, I still don't have a default gateway for the TAP-Win32 Adapter V9. Does this matter?

comment Using pfSense, OpenVPN Connects but Still Can't See the Network
I ran route print and see several network destinations, among which there are some to 192.168.1.0, 192.168.1.255, and 192.168.1.103. Regarding the OpenVPN log... I think it is too large to post here. Should I post it here if it contains my network info?

comment Using pfSense, OpenVPN Connects but Still Can't See the Network
I agree that the work network should have a different subnet... We don't have an IT guy, though, so the network gets neglected, to say the least. My home network is 192.168.5.x.

I am at work currently, using DynDNS to access my pfSense box. The IP assigned to my work XP Home box is 10.1.1.6. Not sure where 10.1.1.5 came from, but no, it is not on my work network. The work network is 192.168.1.x. I cannot ping 10.1.1.5

comment Outlook 2007 Backup to D:\Outlook Fails - Access Denied, Write-Protected or File In Use
In Outlook: File > Backup > Save Backup > Then Outlook tells you that the next time Outlook closes, the Backup will be saved. I then close Outlook and the error above pops up.
