comment Windows XP Folder View - How to Set the Default View
Although your solution didn't completely solve my problem (because I don't think there is a complete solution), I did learn something valuable about registry keys. Thanks.

comment Windows XP Folder View - How to Set the Default View
I added the key and logged out and back in and the folder view wasn't what I was looking for. The window view I am looking for is View > Explorer Bar > Folders on the left and View > Details on the right. Perhaps another key would work???

That registry path is not there for me... I'm using Windows Registry Editor version 5.2, SP2, XP Pro x64

You basically told me what I already know. This is nice because it reiterates what I already know, but you just typed what is already everywhere on the web...

@Cry Who said it was? Didn't Moab say that I should STILL use a backup protocol with RAID 5?

comment Work-Around for OpenVPN Issue Needed - Can Only Connect to a Single IP on Remote Network
Your suggestions are very good. I have used bridged mode before. I have a pfSense firewall setup on my local (192.168.5.0 network). I ended up not using this mode ultimately, but I see how this may work. My main issue is why in the heck was it working and then not, just because I added a network share to a samba configuration?

The EDIT 2 above should clear up the network(s) configuration. @ imoatama - I don't think I need a client-to-client directive. But perhaps a push "route".

I believe the "Networking" is the subsection in the cygwin installer that contains the ssh package... I could be wrong.

comment ssh command not work in cygwin
I use cygwin routinely and many users in my office do too. If you simply grab the setup.exe and don't do anything, ie, accept defaults, you will not install ssh functionality. You must choose to install it as I described. I have done this numerous times. There may be another way, but when ssh is not available, this ALWAYS works for me on my XP machine.

comment OpenVPN - can connect but can't ping or access the server
Yah, I think that was mentioned in the question... "The client is connected and has an IP in the VPN range" and his client and server configs show this as well...

Good points. I would have the power running the a UPC anyway, so this wouldn't be a factor.

comment Can External Hard Drives be Permanently Mounted for Routine Backing Up?
This is kinda what I thought... I have several machines on a network, all very secure by a pfSense firewall. Plus, the machine on which the drive will be mounted is Ubuntu, so this should be fine, like you say. Thanks for the answer.

comment Dual Boot - Ubuntu 9.10, 10.04 - /home Cannot Be Initialized Upon Startup
Regarding the question you ask: "...is that on another disk than sda?" There is only one disk on the machine and it has several partitions. My intention was to a two Ubuntu installations, 9.10 as 64-bit and 10.04 as 32-bit.

Yes, this UUID seems to be missing. I have been looking through the output of the commands in the original post. What exactly needs to be done to get back on track? If the UUID ending in 19da0 is missing, can I add the UUID I want to be at /home to the appropriate fstab and get it to work? This aspect of Linux is still new to me and that is probably why I screed it up in the first place. Thanks.
