comment Can External Hard Drives be Permanently Mounted for Routine Backing Up?
Good points. I would have the power running the a UPC anyway, so this wouldn't be a factor.

This is kinda what I thought... I have several machines on a network, all very secure by a pfSense firewall. Plus, the machine on which the drive will be mounted is Ubuntu, so this should be fine, like you say. Thanks for the answer.

comment Dual Boot - Ubuntu 9.10, 10.04 - /home Cannot Be Initialized Upon Startup
Regarding the question you ask: "...is that on another disk than sda?" There is only one disk on the machine and it has several partitions. My intention was to a two Ubuntu installations, 9.10 as 64-bit and 10.04 as 32-bit.

Yes, this UUID seems to be missing. I have been looking through the output of the commands in the original post. What exactly needs to be done to get back on track? If the UUID ending in 19da0 is missing, can I add the UUID I want to be at /home to the appropriate fstab and get it to work? This aspect of Linux is still new to me and that is probably why I screed it up in the first place. Thanks.

I ran fdsik -l and got no output. See edit above for /etc/fstab contents...

comment How can I remove the labels off my keyboard?
+1: Using this method is probably the best, but be careful if you try it... Certain solvents will eat too much plastic away. I would try this by first adding a small amount of your solvent to a rag and rubbing gently, then go up from there in amount and how hard you rub.

comment Acer Aspire 9300 - Windows 7 Drivers Needed
Yah, tried all this but still having compatibility issues. I am caught in between a rock and a hard place. My hardware doesn't have 64-bit drivers, which I need. Triyng other Nvidia hardware 64-bit drivers now (including from their website). Oh ya, there is no INF folder in the driver folder I got for VGA... Thanks for your help so far @ kispiox

I tried running in compatibility mode but it didn't work. I knew it would take some hacking, but I' not sure I know exactly how to do that... I found the INF file, but not sure what to do with it?

Yes, and it doesn't. In the Display options, I can't get it to recognize either.

comment Is it possible to use a laptop as a “router”, using an old hub and connecting other devices to a wifi laptop?
What about this line: "Is this possible? I'm using Windows 7 64bits and Debian Lenny 5.0.5." From the original question. The PS3 is one device, media center another, and the two OSes mentioned are Windows 7 and Debian... Plus the question mentions "pc."

comment Open Multiple Instances of Outlook 2007 Simultaneously with Google Apps Sync
Yah, I agree... It's a bummer, because I like both Outlook AND Google mail. They just don't integrate all that well right now. I may have to settle with just keeping some browser windows open if I need more than one email account open. Thanks!

It allowed me to opened multiple Outlook windows but they are of the same instance. For example, I can't open multiple instances, each with a different email account.

comment Is it possible to underclock ram
For Windows? I know you can use parameters at boot to tell GRUB to use less RAM in Linux... Perhaps there's a way to do it with Windows too.
