Are you talking about an X terminal or about the TTY console? If it's an X terminal you can simply select it with your mouse. In a TTY, selecting doesn't make much sense to me.

This is not true (anymore). There's an X extension called MPX that supports multiple mouse pointers and keyboards. You can control it using the xinput command. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-Pointer_X
