In Excel, is there a less repetitive way of writing `=IF(<Expression A>=0, “(none)”, <Expression A>)`? +1 for Clever use of divide by zero. |

Make default choice of user in windows 7 login to password type screen Doesn't windows 7 remember the last user who logged in? On my Win7-64 machine, I hit Ctrl-alt-del and my user name is selected, I type my password. Can you give us more details about what you want to accomplish? |

Can I possibly recover the Windows system partition that I deleted (100MB) ? Now make a backup. People neglect to backup personal data at home, but I'd rather have to tell my boss that the accounting data was lost, than have to tell my wife that her pictures were gone... |

Multiple concurrent cisco VPN client connections Are you trying to do two OUTBOUND connections from your computer, or are the two connections inbound to the office? Tell us more about the Cisco config, ie is it an ASA or PIX? Cisco Anywhere or something different? |

Can inkjet printers print envelopes? Many HP Laser printer pick up from the front when using the paper tray, causing the paper to make a 180 deg turn to go over the fuser, then another 180 deg turn to exit the printer on the top. Using the Manual feed tray, eliminates the first 180 turn, and opening the back eliminates the second. So the paper goes straight through. You may see a bit of curl due to heat, but you may be able to adjust the temps on the printer itself. |

Is there a way to make Word 2007 fail-proof? RSMoser is spot on here. If she wants to open a document that she receives via e-mail, her choices are 1) flow RSMoser's advice and do Save-As the first time she saves it (note in Word 2007 the menu is gone, so it is 'Office Button>Save-As) or 2) In Outlook, right click on the attachment, select Save-As, and put the document where she wants it, then open from there. |

How can I open a random file in a folder? You could probably write a script that built a list of files in a folder, and picked a random number to select an element from the list. But why? |

Can a power loss break an hard disk? Its probably more likely that the powerloss caused the drives Master Boot Record, or other information that tells the system where various data is to be corrupted. If the data was being modified when the power went out, the data may not be in a consistent state, hence the IO errors. I've heard drives with corrupted MBRs or FATs make strange noises. Unless you can repair the corruption, you're looking at a reinstall anyway, disks are relatively cheap these days, I'd recommend a new disk to be safe. |

convert home phone wiring to Ethernet Generally on phone cable, you'll have Red/Green twisted, and Yellow/Black Twisted. My guess is the other pair in the OP's scenario will also be twisted. If I HAD to make this work, I'd probably use R/G as 1&2 and Y/B as 3&6 to eliminate crosstalk as Scott suggested. |

Missing computer? I once heard a story about a Server (I think it was an A/S400 that was in a closet. The Building Maint department walled in the door, and the server ran for years. Eventually somebody traced a cable going into a wall and wondered, "where's this go?" |
