comment How can I fix DNS resolution on second router in home network?
@BigChris the gateway is configured via DHCP, so I believe your advice to change the second router's default gateway settings conflict with your suggestion to disable DHCP. If the secondary router's DHCP is disabled, clients should get their lease from the primary router and the default gateway will then be correctly configured to the primary router. There's of course no harm in changing the default gateway on the second router--it's just that it's unused and irrelevant when DHCP is disabled on it.

This doesn't work if you want multiple views into the same file.

comment WiFi repeaters that duplicate the broadcast wireless signal?
I am familiar with typical wireless and wired range extenders. These force clients to monitor the connection and switch APs, which has proven very unreliable. My question is not about those.

comment WiFi repeaters that duplicate the broadcast wireless signal?
It's definitely not impossible; I wasn't asking if a WiFi standard existed to support it because it's not necessary. I know that there are plenty of proprietary protocols to support roaming by booting clients off APs when signal strength is weak. I'm asking only if a product or feature exists that accomplishes this.

comment Google Drive won't let me download my files
I've noticed this problem when logged into more than one Google account; only one of the Google Drive accounts is actually accessible. Serious bug.

comment Configure second wifi router on same LAN as primary?
It's a TP Link WR841N, but brand/model shouldn't really matter much. See below ansewer.

comment How important is having 64-bit programs on 64-bit OS?
It would be helpful if you could explain specifically what "rocks" about 64-bit. A technical explanation is what is sought here.

This does nothing for my installation. Viewing thumbnails from either Adobe Reader or Acrobat produces no images.

comment Is Comcast blocking my SSH on a high port?
Leaving a breadcrumb for myself and anyone else that may run into this. I had my OBi202 VoIP phone adapter in bridge mode in front of my router. This was causing all incoming ports to be blocked even though I'd forwarded them correctly on my router. Apparently the OBi202 doesn't pass them through. I ended up putting my OBi202 back behind my router to fix the problem, though I will likely have slightly worse VoIP QoS as a result.

So this appears not to have been fixed as of 8/6/13. This is pathetic!

comment How can I put two wireless routers on the same subnet?
@Rory et al, it ends up there's no way anyone besides me could have solved this problem. It was my idiotic network topology. I had a Voip device inadvertently sitting between the two routers blocking the uplink traffic. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for trying to help!

comment How can I put two wireless routers on the same subnet?
whatUwant, I've now tried plugging into the LAN port of the secondary router and disabling the secondary router's DHCP. For some reason, the primary router still won't assign IP addresses to the devices connected to the secondary router's wifi. I'm not too familiar with the protocol to understand why this shouldn't work. I'm sure it would work fine for devices connected to the secondary router's wired LAN.

@Rory my primary router has something called "wireless repeating function." This is meant for bridging a LAN wirelessly rather than bridging a wireless network across a unified LAN. The wireless function is useless on the secondary router if this mode is used because the wireless antenna is dedicated to communicating with the primary router in order to route wired LAN traffic wirelessly.

@Rory my secondary router doens't have a bridge mode.
