comment How to switch Google Chrome user profiles with one keyboard shortcut?
Holy cow, it's working. Thanks a lot! I've added my working solution above.

comment How to reset a Windows application's “Shortcut key”?
Thank you, but unfortunately, I can't download anything onto the company computer. From the screenshots I couldn't tell what the ZIP-file contains. If it's changing registry entries, perhaps you could post which registry keys are being modified?

comment How to reset a Windows application's “Shortcut key”?
Pretty cool. :-) However, it didn't find the hotkey I am looking for because the link does not exist anymore. It found all the other hotkeys, though. Hm... :-/

comment How to reset a Windows application's “Shortcut key”?
@Alex: No, there isn't. I can delete it and recreate it. But the shortcut key assignment still doesn't work. I can assign an unused shortcut key though.

comment Is Synology's QuickConnect secure?
@supertonsky I'd say no. Perhaps, ask your question in the comments section of the linked blog post, or even better, ask him to answer your question over here on Superuser.com. The author working for Synology is very quick with replying. He just answered a question yesterday even though the post is from last year.

comment script to restore/bring to front of a program, or open it if it is not active
@Coldrainwater: How would one need to change your script above to make it work for Google Chrome? The problem is that the title changes depending on what website is open.

comment Why are certain keyboard shortcuts not working through Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 desktop sharing?
Not a big one. I don't use Office Communicator that often, and when I use it, I can use the mouse instead of the keyboard shortcuts.

A conflict. Had the same thought. Good to get the confirmation from you. So that means all the keyboard shortcuts found on that site you liked to, won't work. However, it's a little strange that Ctrl+M actually works even though its "Pause/Restart video". Ctrl+Shift+T is the one not working which might be a conflict with "Transfer call".

comment How can I duplicate a Firefox tab including the history with a keyboard shortcut?
Thank you @VenkatH and @techie007! But touching the mouse is not allowed -- that's just wrong. :-)

comment How to export all contacts from Outlook 2007 as vcard?
I just tried that and I get an *.msg file for each selected contact, not a vcard. When I open the file in a text editor it is binary, not a plain text vcard. The same happens with Outlook 2010. Any idea where I went wrong?

comment How to install VLC on Puppy Linux?
Thank you, amazing response time. Unfortunately, it's not working. Puppy Pakage Manager displayed: "Error, package ... .pet failed to install." for the 1.0.0RC4 version. The 0.8.6 did install and there is an application icon in the menu "Multimedia", but VLC does not start when I click on it, even after rebooting the system. There is also no error message displayed.

+1. Thanks for the hint about only typing "c"! Can't believe I kept typing more letters that necessary.

comment Why not open a PDF file in the browser but first save it to the harddisk?
I still don't know what the "true" answer to my question is, but since this answer gave the most explanation, I'm choosing this one.

But why is a PDF reader safer than the browser plugin? Isn't the PDF reader running with higher trust settings than the browser plugin, and therefore, an exploit could do just as much or more harm?

comment Why not open a PDF file in the browser but first save it to the harddisk?
Sorry, I wasn't specific enough: I meant saving it to the harddisk and opening it with some PDF reader (Foxit Reader, Sumatra PDF, Acrobat Reader), not the browser or browser plugin, i.e. not from the browser cache.
