Note that both Charles and HTTP Scoop are HTTP-only (you won't be able to see packets at TCP/IP/etc level).

@terdon, aha, the funny thing is that after I added this line to /etc/fstab I'm no longer able to mount the drive even from Disk Utility! ;) Removing the line restored the functionality.

@terdon I tried, unfortunately it doesn't help. I mean, it seems to be working — volume is not auto-mounted after reboot, but it does not prevent drive from spinning up when computer leaves sleep

@terdon, wow, it looks that /etc/fstab is no longer used in Mountain Lion. :( It's only /etc/fstab.hd exists with the following contents: pastebin.com/T6cZne4t

@terdon what do you mean by unplugging? the disk is inside the notebook

Wow! I think it's too much for me — because you'll need to do it on every machine and I guess after each Safari update. I was looking for maybe safari extension (but wasn't able to find it myself)
