Where are Windows 7 Passwords Stored? @ekaj Rainbow tables are fantastic for dealing with short hashes. They do not work well when dealing with much more than that. Brute forcing modern cryptography with a long key is hard. By which I mean be prepared to wait for months or years if you have a spare supercomputer lying around and expect to not see the answer in your lifetime if you don't. |

Where are Windows 7 Passwords Stored? @ekaj Like Kyle said, it depends on the type. Some types (normally ones that are dealing with mass market consumer products like CSS that almost have to have holes in them to work as intended, or some forms that are meant to be encrypted and decrypted by hand like the Caesar Cypher) are relatively easy to break. Modern strong computer encryption like TwoFish is very hard to break. |

Legal way to get movies/shows onto a non-networked computer I am also not a lawyer, but I believe you would run into the problem that afrazier described. Worse, many DVDs include "anti-ripping" technology like RipGaurd from Macrovision. They have all been cracked, but employing the tools to bypass them would violate the DMCA. |

Ubuntu Launcher Customization That is a shame. As an operatin system, I really like Linux in general and Ubuntu in particular, but I would like it much better with a few tweaks to that Launcher and they seem like they should be relatively simple things. I find I trigger it fairly often accidentally. |

Program that “fences” installed programs so they do not contaminate Windows? Depending on how far you want to take it, a virtual machine may be exactly what you want. VmWare Player is free as long as you have another license for your os of choice. |
