I am a development manager and engineer, but I haven't always been one. I've also been an architect, a carpenter and a paratrooper (never a butcher, baker or candlestick maker).

Even so, I now have over 10 years of experience designing, engineering and developing Internet solutions. That experience extends to building and leading intra- and international development teams and organizing those teams around an evolving set of tools, standards, practices and processes.

Sadly, I still can't design my way out of a wet paper bag.

Brilliant. I didn't know about the non-interactive component and it's exactly what I need to provision a Vagrant VM.

This works, but...why? I'm looking it up, but a bit of explanation would be helpful.

I'd love to know why the shell gets messed up, but this really did help. I can reproduce the issue at will, but as soon as I type reset (even though I can't see it) and hit Enter...poof! Good as new. Thank you.

Never said it was a good idea. I understand the risks, but there was a time when one of the services I used--Github or Unfuddle, I think--only allowed access from one key. That made it a necessary evil for me when I did it. Though, to this point, I haven't changed it so that's on me.

Okay, so that may explain why what I'm doing isn't working (although it's always worked for me in the past as a quick test), but what should I be doing?
