This is really good information, especially on the 80% and 50% settings. Thanks!

comment Turning DisplayPort monitor off disables monitor completely
This isn't an NVIDIA-only thing. It's a monitor hardware thing. Displayport, I believe, has a HPD pin ("hot plug detect"). I believe that what happens is that when the monitor turns off, it brings that pin low, which then causes Windows to detect the display as disconnected, and then disables it. I don't know why this doesn't occur with DVI (or maybe it can). I experience the same thing on Windows 8, AMD Radeon HD graphics, with Samsung SyncMaster950D displays, but only when connected via Displayport.

comment Computer randomly restarting: motherboard or processor?
Since you said you have a nearly identical computer, if this doesn't yield any info, I'd start swapping components one-by-one between the two until the second computer starts rebooting randomly. This should identify what's at fault through process of elimination.

comment Batch file to ZIP only files in directory or sub directory
@PaulJavier You should be able to do it that way too. It just might require some shell script cleverness, depending on what you're using for your zip program. Just experiment! The FOR command will get you where you need to go, though.

comment How to show a warning message when entering a folder?
Ah, this is a cool alternative method to what I used in my answer! I didn't notice that you added a bash and csh method as well.
