comment Windows XP crash with blue screen during following shutdown (rdbss.sys, STOP code D4)
@maschka: If you see computers you don't know, that suggests someone is piggybacking on your network (or, that YOU are piggybacking on someone elses network) - and that might have something to do with your problem. Is your wifi network encrypted using WPA or better? If not, you probably want to enable encryption - or, at least, add MAC filtering so not everyone can get in.

comment How come all except one of the VIM plugins I installed in Windows Vista VIM do not work?
Just an FYI: there's a 64-bit build of Vim available at code.google.com/p/vim-win3264. It's not going to help you with this particular problem, but you might like to have it so you can get the shell extension for the "Edit with Vim" context menu item working (assuming that's something you use).

comment Do the IE developer tools get installed with every IE 8 now?
@Colin: The IE team has a complete flow chart on blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2010/03/02/… for that.

comment Windows XP crash with blue screen during following shutdown (rdbss.sys, STOP code D4)
@Maschka: If you use any sort of network drives, you're using SMB, and I suspect the driver for that is kept in memory anyway. If there aren't any other computers on the network, though, I can't quite see a reason why you would get problems with that driver...

comment Does mogrify copy images that fall through resize filter?
@niklasfi: I ran the command you originally posted, mogrify -path /somepath -resize '1600x1600<' * - where you used < instead of >. With >, then correct, it does not resize.

I'm not completely sure how being on Windows prevents you from trying it out. ImageMagick exists for Windows too.

No, sorry for not making that clear enough. If you're compiling an application, you need both -dev (to compile it) and the actual library (to run it). If you're just running an application, you just need the library iteslf.
