comment How to enable Bluetooth in Mac with shortcut or command line?
Ctrl+F7 didn't work for me on Mavericks 10.9.3, but the BlueTooth File Exchange approach worked nicely.

You might also consider 'command + shift + 4', which will let you drag out an area while displaying live dimensions. Tap escape to keep the Mac from actually taking the screenshot.

In DigitalColor Meter, choose View > Display Values > As Hexadecimal.

Hmm. Firmware F.16 on an HP dv9347cl doesn't seem to offer the ability to disable the card reader. :-\

You only need to change one end of the connection, either end.

comment How do you enable syslogd to accept incoming connections on Snow Leopard from remote loggers?
This was exactly what I was trying to do! Namely, get my 4 AEBSs to log to my Xserve running SLS. Much appreciated!

Right. I don't know what the command-line-triggered uninstaller did, but it didn't uninstall the USBOverdrive.kext. Once it was deleted manually (dragged to trash) and I rebooted, all was well.

Success! It turned out that the USB Overdrive extension was NOT removed from /System/Library/Extensions. Deleting it and rebooting has enabled scrolling!

I found MicrosoftMouse.kext and removed it. I also looked at the list on the USB Overdrive support page, but found none of the ones listed. Rebooted, but the Magic Trackpad still fails to scroll.

As another data point, I did try downloading the Magic Trackpad and Multitouch Update from Apple's support site. The installer reports that I don't need to install it.

Pretty sure, yes. I used the command-line directions from here: superuser.com/questions/318983/…, which were to use this one-liner: /Applications/Utilities/Uninstall\ USB\ Overdrive.app/Contents/Resources/rmusbo
