comment Citrix/Outlook 2003: “SBCMSYNC.DLL is not a valid Office Addin”
@PriceChild: Are you sure this applies to someone logging into Citrix first, then starting Outlook from within Citrix? Citrix is a thin-client environment, running applications from the server, so the user will have no ability to repair applications on the server.

Sorry, it is hanging on a simple black screen, before the BIOS self test. It is a member of a domain. I can't see anything referencing this computer in the event log of the domain controller, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for.

comment Firefox 4.0 Refresh and Go do not work
This behaviour also occurs if Firefox knows it is online, and can't load a URL, which is working in another browser. Pressing F5 or Refresh will not reload the page, even it loads correctly in a new tab.

Under the File menu, Work Offline was already un-ticked, indicating Firefox was not working offline.

@Synetech. Chrome was detecting other plugins, but I have disabled them all, restarted Chrome, yet the problem remains.

Thanks. It's hard to tell which downlink is an advertisement for some other driver utility, and which link is the HWINFO program. It did identify the model which I had just installed drivers for (as a guess), so I hope it is not reading software, but hardware.

The output is simply 00IBM VGA Compatible BIOS. Are you sure it is not identifying the software?

Thanks. I might have to get C3-PO or R2-D2 to decipher the output. :P

@Synetech inc: Do you mean a FF plugin installed in Chrome, or installed in FF. Should I get this error even when Firefox is not open?

comment Google Chrome not using local cache
Is there a way to prevent short expiry times being honoured by the browser? Content might change 4 times a year, so why bother consuming the extra bandwidth to reload pages that haven't changed?

The above C++ error only occurred after I coped msvcr80.dll to the Chrome application folder. The first version of msvcr80.dll I copied was from: c:\program files\LAst.fm\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\ - version 8.00.50727.762 c:\program files\Dell V105\Diagnostics - version 8.00.50727.42

I've disabled all Chrome plugins, restarted, and the problem remains. I have no Chrome extensions installed. I copied the nspr4.dll file from Mozilla Firefox to the Chrome application folder, and I received a similar error regarding mozcrt19.dll, plc4.dll & msvcr80.dll. I copied these files, then I received a different error:
