Cost of Postscript print driver Suck it up and pay. Postscript support is an expensive add-on for many brands of office printers. |

Can a TRIM capable SSD be used on a non-TRIM system and transferred to a TRIM capable machine for maintenance? Most current controllers have decent garbage collection routines in the event that the host system can't use TRIM. |

How Can I determine the page count from a postscript file (generated by Opera)? @KurtPfeifle: I didn't see your answer, but after reviewing it, it's definitely worth a +1. After some more Googling, you've also posted this on SO. There's also this comment from the GhostScript maintainer. I'm not sure they'll be any faster than what you used above though. |

Best method of transferring files over internet? Assuming that 250 Kilobytes/sec is accurate, you're taking about 19 straight hours of transfer time. |

Best method of transferring files over internet? Don't underestimate the utility of a flash drive and a visit. Add in a hot meal and free laundry, the occasional visit home might be a worthwhile route for the largest files. |

What does the IDE connector labeled PRI IDE on my motherboard do? @Hennes: Not all HDD vendors differentiated between "Single" and "Master". (Yet another point of confusion!) If memory serves, I think Western Digital was the only one. |

What does the IDE connector labeled PRI IDE on my motherboard do? @kmort: I haven't had to worry about it in the last 10 years because I've been using SATA for nearly all of that. However, the last time I used PATA (which is the same as IDE) those things still needed to be checked, even if it just meant making sure that the out-of-box defaults (proper cables, CS for everything) were correct. |

What does the IDE connector labeled PRI IDE on my motherboard do? The problem with plugging old hardware into a newer system is that all that "crazy nonsense" still applies. Examples: Needing a proper cable to use the "cable select" setting on the devices. Making sure that the devices are jumpered properly (master/slave/cs) based on the cable and settings. Making sure the BIOS is configured properly. |

Can you zip a file from the command prompt using ONLY Windows' built-in capability to zip files? I'm surprised that you didn't find a way to use %RANDOM% in there somewhere... |

Showing ADS Files only @dbenham: Sorry, I thought that $DATA was the stream name. In that case, your scripts look like just the thing then. |

Showing ADS Files only The only problem is that alternate streams can have any name, so you need to search for file names containing colons. |
