Yeah, I'm thinking [citation needed] if you're going to assert that SfM is the main reason that MS implemented ADSes in NTFS.

comment How do I access files on a Mac OS X Server under Windows?
SMB sharing is what the OP needs, but he needs to be careful. Modifying any files on the server will destroy their resource forks. For most files it's not a problem, but for others (Type 1 Fonts, for example) it will damage the file.

comment Can installing .NET on Windows XP cause any programs to stop working?
.NET 3.5 includes 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5. 1.0 and 1.1 are independent, and generally unnecessary.

comment What is a good way to batch re-encode mp3 files from a higher bitrate to a lower bitrate in Windows?
While you're right that transcoding from .mp3 to .mp3 will reduce quality, converting back to .wav and then re-encoding to .mp3 isn't going to help anything. In fact, almost every transcoder already does exactly this behind the scenes.

comment Is there a way I can create ECC data for hard disk files?
Most of these "error correction" algorithms are implemented using Reed-Solomon Error Codes. Some other software options are MultiPar and ICE ECC. QuickPar is also popular, but hasn't been updated in years.

comment how to reduce image bit size
@Gnoupi: Some software (like Photoshop, even CS5) poor PNG implementations. For example, a screenshot of my file manager came out of PS at over 90 KB. The same screen saved from Paint.NET was about 77 KB. Letting OptiPNG optimize the compression of the IDAT chunks alone reduced the file size down to less than 60 KB. That's a 30% reduction in file size with zero quality reduction whatsoever. JPEG compression can also be losslessly optimized in some cases as well, though there's generally not as much gain to be had.
