comment IBM WATSON tied yesterday Feb 14 2011 in Jeopardy, is this the beginning of a new era in supercomputing?
@Ken, At the beginning of the show, Trebek explained that Watson is informed of the question via a textfile. I'd imagine any other events that require Watson's response are signalled in a similar way.

The license states that OS X can only run on official Mac hardware. In my hypothetical case, even though it's inside a VM, the physical hardware would still be official Mac hardware. Therefore, I don't see a contradiction.

What do you mean by "Try the Option Key"? If you mean press that key, yes, I've tried all the keys, and none appear to be configured to trigger the context menu by default. Is there a way to configure this in Ubuntu?

You might have to upgrade to Linux ;-)

Yeah, I never read my local mailbox. I ended up creating a simple script to send email to my normal mailbox, and setup a cron job to run mdadm regularly, using the --program param to execute my email script to notify me.

comment Force Chrome to open new pages in new window, not tab? (when opened from a program)
Note, if you search the registry for any other keys containing "chrome.exe", and find one with a value containing " -- %1", then adding my change should work.

I tested that on Windows XP, and that key is where the default browser command is stored. Not sure if Windows 7 is the same, or you just don't have a default browser selected. The whole value should look something like: "C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --new-window "%1"

comment NAS + Hard Drives + US Customs = World of Pain?
@AndrejaKo, Fair point. However, this whole issue is a little stupid when you think about it. One could simply put all their data on a private FTP server, erase any sensitive data from the media travelling through "customs", then download it all through the internet once they setup shop somewhere, completely bypassing any overreaching government inspection. Granted, that would certainly be a little slower than simply carrying the hard drives with you, but it renders obsolete any draconian laws dealing with data.
