comment How to add CLASSPATH parameters permanently when using sudo?
There's not going to be anything in sudo that is specific to Java / JVM (CLASSPATH), but it does have flexible options and configuration control for how to handle the environment.

comment Linux Directories to Map to SSD
Keep in mind that out-of-the-box, MySQL puts its database files in /var. How that fits into SSD use scenario, I'm not sure.

It works for individual completions but not for the "insert all possible completions." That is the question. Why one and not the other while the insert-completions M-asterisk does work for filesystem completions?

Changed which version number specified for Mac OS (from that of uname -a to the product version)

@Daniel: In fact, I based my completion function on the very same Web page you did.

All I can tell you is that I'm running Snow Leopoard 10.6.7 and when I run "uname -a" it says the kernel is "Darwin Kernel Version 10.7.0". It is by no means a pre-release system. And as I said, Using Option for Meta, as I've configured it, will trigger insert-completions for file system-based completion.

Yes, other Meta- work. This is Snow Leopard. That's just what "uname -a" produces.
