comment Application Does Not Start in Windows 7
Your answer was closest to the mark. I did a repair of the .NET Framework 4 Client, and the problem seems to have resolved itself. I can only assume that the framework somehow became corrupted. Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile, click Uninstall/Change. From the Maintenance screen that opens, choose "Repair .NET Framework 4 Client Project to its original state."

comment Application Does Not Start in Windows 7
@techie007: Do you have any ideas as to why it would be generating an accessed denied error, even when I'm running the application with administrator privileges?

There is obviously a problem, or the application wouldn't have crashed on launch. Let's please address that. Some posts I've read elsewhere seem to indicate that I may need to (re)install the x86 and/or x64 C++ redistributable. What do you think?

comment How to Create “Factory Reset” Image on Partitioned Drive
@xXPhenom22Xx: How much space do you think I should allocate for a recovery partition? If I just want the basic Windows installation, you think 12GB or 20GB would be sufficient?

comment How to Record Audio in Windows 7
@Revolter: I've had a cable like this ( amazon.com/Mediabridge-Stereo-design-accomodates-smartphone/dp/… ) for years. I recently purchased this ( radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2603246 ) adapter to complete the stated task.

Linker, thanks! Audacity isn't the most user-friendly program out there, but after a bit of poking around I found that it has a lot of nice bells and whistles.

comment Memory Overclocking
@kobaltz: The motherboard supports memory "overclocked" to 2000MHz, but it only has predefined settings up to 1600MHz. The memory I have is designed to run at 2000MHz, so it's only being overclocked from the perspective of the motherboard and its chipset.

Thanks for the feedback. Where do you find that they are "DDR3 1600" (sixteen hundred)? Are you looking at the "PC3 16000" (sixteen thousand)? Both the Newegg (newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220534) and Patriot Memory (patriotmemory.com/products/…) product pages describe the memory as DDR3 2000 capable of running at 2000MHz.

comment Enabling Extended Desktop in Windows 7
Thanks. I found the settings through the Control Panel, and I was able to extend the desktop to a second monitor, so that any two monitors are in use with the extended desktop. However, it won't let me extend the desktop onto the third monitor. It turns out that I need to use the display port to use a third monitor.

Accepted for now because it is the best answer. However, my DEP problems seem to have gone away. I was able to get the print driver uninstalled and do a clean install.

comment Using MS Word Table Sytles to Change Font Size
Table styles used to work great in versions of Word prior to 2007. I used office 2002 and 2003 for years without these kinds of problems. Now, M$ has to go and break table styles. I know it's not just my machine or document because I've experienced the same difficulty with table styles in Word 2007 ever since I started using it (multiple machines, multiple documents). This junk software has been out for 4 years now, and they still haven't fixed it!

comment Adding Removed Item to Most Often Used Programs List - Windows XP
While clearing the list did allow the application to be re-added to it (by running the application), it wiped out the entire exclude list as well. I'll accept the answer for now, but it would have been preferable to re-add a single application to the list.
