comment Seeking Lenovo G70-70 drivers as .INF, not .EXE
Because, a I said, I bought it in Germany, where we don't have to pay the en.wikipedia.org/wiki/… I was considering using Linux, still might if I can't get those drivers. In which case, why should I be forced to pay for o/s that I don't want?

That's the whole point of the question - I can find Lenovo drivers, but only as .EXE, not as .INF & when I use 7-zip to extract from the .EXEs I get some files, which the Windows setup doesn't recognize, none of which are .INF

SATA comparability sounded like a great idea. Alas, it did not help :-(

I am stuck at point 3 - the Windows install is paused and asking for a driver(it doesn't say which). I only have the .EXes

comment How do I remove an unmounted volume from desktop?
Well, it should appear as a file in ~/Desktop. So open a terminal and try to delete it from there ...

What have you tried? Did you click it & click the DEL key? Or right click & look for a delete option? Or drag it to the trash?

Did you try it before asking us? If you don't have an Sqlite database to try it with, this is a good sample ... chinookdatabase.codeplex.com/downloads/get/557773

I have upvoted you for what seems like a good approach. It did extract some files, but unfortunately Windows 7 install did not recognize them as drivers. There were not any .INF files. I don't understand what is going wrong, but can't award teh answer until I manage to install.

comment Test whether PHP is correctly installed on my Mac
Find where Apache has its webserver root. I.e. where localhost is on your file system and make your new directory under that, not under /home FI it is not clear where from your Apache config files, you could search your drives for that index.php file

Logging. Does Blast2Go have logging? Turn it on. Google & find out as much as you can about Linux logging in general and network logging in particular. Also, log resource usage, since you say that "the computer running Blast2Go frozen" - maybe out of RAM?

Oh, yes, and what do you about lines like printf("New paragraph follows:\n\n\");? How many lines is that? ;-)

Why not use a proper tool to gather metrics (and maybe do some static code analysis while you are at it). I am guessing that you are only looking for a rough indicator, as you don't seem to have considered whether blank lines / comments should be counted. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_lines_of_code
