(How) can I change the time until the screensaver kicks in from the command line? +1 Well, that's trange. I can see that it is updating the registry key, but when I right click the desktop (or go via control panel) and choose "peronalize", it still shows 5 mintes on the GUI. If I set 10 seconds via registry, the screen saver does not start after 10 seconds (or even a few minutes). If I set 1 minute in the GUI then it does start after 1 minute (and it updates the registry correctly). |

Permissions … how to make a folder undeleteable? +1 I am not sure that I understand "lock' a particular directory, not ALL the directories" - do you mean lock the directory, but not its sub-direcctories e.g lock /home/a but not /home/a/b or /home/a/c etc ? |

Connection loss to random websites on LAN I can only suggest a process of elimintaion. Comapre the IP settings in Control Panel (if we are talking about windows, else do the similar for Linux/Mac). Swap network cards. Connect the PC in the phyiscal place of one that is ok, in case it is just the cable. As last resort, back-up the PC and either fresh install or clone a PC with no problems onto it ... Something is different ... reaplce things until it starts working and you will find what it is |
