comment Is a Windows OS boot recoverable after expanding its partition?
Could you add some more info, such as whether the disk is still readable (e.g. have you checked the disk on another computer or tried accessing it with Live CD/USB such as Ubuntu). Also what OS is this and what did you actually do - e.g. Is this Windows 7/8 and did you wipe out the boot partition? If the disk is "readable" have a look at this answer superuser.com/questions/548207/…

comment How to prevent long file name error copying from an external drive?
@buzz3791 - yes I know. But defaults change from time to time and it does no harm to put in the intended copyflags.

comment Is it possible to break IP address based network speed restriction?
The question was about the same underlying problem from the same user - I believed it was worth flagging as such. If the user's question had changed due to new information, then it would have been better to amend the original question.

comment After reinstalling win xp some application can not open files
It sounds like a missing file or wrong version of a file - if you look in the Application Log, are there any events associated with the Application? If so, you may get more detail about the error. If not, you'll probably need to raise a support ticket with GeoVision who publish this software.

Have you tried re-installing the application (Parashara) - you may have overwritten a specific file version that it needs when you re-installed XP. Also make sure you've done all the Windows Updates after your re-install of XP.

Even so, there is a skill to doing these things, and in troubleshooting your own mistakes - many of us have been sleep deprived in our computing careers, but still know what we're doing regardless of mental state. P.S. Good luck with the computer engineering course, hope you enjoy the experience.

comment Can I remote manage a Hyper-V Server that's running on Windows 8?
This is how Server 2012 is setup out of the box. How safe this is will depend on other factors such as your Endpoint security and your own network. You still have to authenticate with the Hyper-V server.
