comment Laptop won't boot, restarts on its own + black screen
Do you know the make and model of Laptop? If so, add this to your question as it might help with the diagnosis.

comment Restoring registry to allow Program Files on a different partition (using junctions) to be recognized after reinstalling Windows?
If you're speaking about Junction points, then these are not held in the registry. They are part of the NTFS file system, so they should be retained unless you reformat the drive/partition (in which case you cannot restore them without recreating the Junction points).

comment Importing PST Calendar to Outlook.com
P.S. This may work on Windows Live Mail, but I've not tested it as I don't use it - however I have tested the Outlook method.

comment Importing PST Calendar to Outlook.com
You don't say how you are trying to import the Calendar - please could you clarify what you are doing. Also, is this Outlook.com or Outlook365 and are you connecting to email via the web browser interface or through an email application (such as Outlook)

comment Windows Explorer can't handle copying terabytes (TB) of files, what works instead?
Just to note that Robocopy uses it's own copying methods and can restart files mid-copy (use /Z option). Robocopy also handles paths longer than 256 characters long (which Explorer doesn't). Just because it's run from the command line, doesn't exclude it from being a program in its own right. Glad you found a good alternative to Explorer - I might give Total Commander a try myself.

comment Is a Windows OS boot recoverable after expanding its partition?
Could you add some more info, such as whether the disk is still readable (e.g. have you checked the disk on another computer or tried accessing it with Live CD/USB such as Ubuntu). Also what OS is this and what did you actually do - e.g. Is this Windows 7/8 and did you wipe out the boot partition? If the disk is "readable" have a look at this answer superuser.com/questions/548207/…

comment How to prevent long file name error copying from an external drive?
@buzz3791 - yes I know. But defaults change from time to time and it does no harm to put in the intended copyflags.

comment Is it possible to break IP address based network speed restriction?
The question was about the same underlying problem from the same user - I believed it was worth flagging as such. If the user's question had changed due to new information, then it would have been better to amend the original question.

comment After reinstalling win xp some application can not open files
It sounds like a missing file or wrong version of a file - if you look in the Application Log, are there any events associated with the Application? If so, you may get more detail about the error. If not, you'll probably need to raise a support ticket with GeoVision who publish this software.

comment After reinstalling win xp some application can not open files
Have you tried re-installing the application (Parashara) - you may have overwritten a specific file version that it needs when you re-installed XP. Also make sure you've done all the Windows Updates after your re-install of XP.

comment What parts do I need to RMA? I made a TON of careless mistakes upgrading. Motherboard fried for sure, not sure what else
Even so, there is a skill to doing these things, and in troubleshooting your own mistakes - many of us have been sleep deprived in our computing careers, but still know what we're doing regardless of mental state. P.S. Good luck with the computer engineering course, hope you enjoy the experience.

comment Can I remote manage a Hyper-V Server that's running on Windows 8?
This is how Server 2012 is setup out of the box. How safe this is will depend on other factors such as your Endpoint security and your own network. You still have to authenticate with the Hyper-V server.

comment Why won't cmd exit after execution of batch file?
It's two years ago since I wrote this - normally I'd try something before posting, but had a different OS back then. Just tried in Windows 8 and it does not work - using the extra "" works. I'll edit the response so it's up to date. Thanks.

To do what the Op wants, use timeout like this "timeout /t 0 > nul:" - which will run the timeout command without any output and will quit immediately.
