comment Convert JPEG files (with best quality)
If you have Vista or 7, you'll have XPS converter as one of printers. Just print the jpg and you'll get XPS file. No need for external converters.

comment Why does Notepad++ disable the HexEditor plugin
Interesting question? Could it be that the problem was fixed on plug-in side and the Notepad++ side wasn't notified of it? In the end, you could always ask developers why is the plug-in tagged incompatible.

comment How to manage what OVI maps are installed on my Nokia mobile?
Hey, can you tell me where is the on your device section? I can't find it. Also, you can select which maps to install using the selection or the right. You have continents and when you select continent, you get country list. You can then select individual maps to install.

I think that windows 2008 has everything except proxy available on your original list. Still, it needs in my (limited) experience about same amount of updates as 2003. On the other hand, I believe you could do everything on Centos too. I don't remember right now if you need separate licenses for remote desktop on windows 2008, but you don't you could use it for management. Basically boils down to what you are more comfortable with. Also, GNU/Linux needs restarts only for kernel updates. I remember server 2008 restarting and not booting properly a few times because of default auto updates.

No new versions are available and support seems to be discontinued. The driver is pretty old though.

Actually, I just printed to XPS a file which made a 1.1GiB print job. The XPS version is ~4MiB.

I'll try again with Foxit. My problem is that I have a lot of PDF which have lots of graphics in them. So far only Sumatra PDF worked fine and it remembers the last displayed page in a PDF. I did try Foxit some time ago, but it was too slow for me.

comment What can DVDs do that flash drives can't?
Actually, there are drives which do have such functionality! For example thinkgeek.com/gadgets/security/99f1 Here's a source for encryption debate: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Content_Scramble_System Still, the encryption in DVDs is by today's standards laughable.

Just a quick question: why ext2? It's very old and doesn't use journaling. ext3 has been stable and a default file system for a long time now and some distributions are starting to switch over to ext4. Is there some benefit to ext2 that does not apply to ext3 and ext4?

Also, make sure you run a anti-virus check just in case. Some pornographic/pirate sites attempt to install viruses on their visitor's computers.
