I'll try with Alt+Print+K. Unfortunately, my problem is that I don't have terminal access when I start X so I can't use kilall X .

+1 for flash. I've had experience with some sites done in flash where couple of open tabs will eat couple of GiBs of RAM. This happened mostly in flash 10.0. Since I moved to 10.1 I haven't seen it again.

Also, there could be two flash installations. One for IE and one for Firefox compatible browsers. Make sure you get them both.

+1 for Windows only looks at the last extension to determine the file type. Many viruses attempt to disguise themselves this way.

It could be that there is some undocumented trick in Acrobat reader that will allow you to do this. You can try, but the official way is to convert .ai files to some other format. Also, interesting option would be xps. With windows, you will already have xps printer installed, so you could print the document and convert it to xps using that too. Then you would be able to view it at home.

comment “make & make install” software on Linux
Sorry, I never did any programming in Perl, so I don't know what it expects. This seems programming related, so you might try searching and asking at stackoverflow.com It's SU's sister site which solves programming problems. People there have more experience with this kind of stuff. Or you could start a new question here and hope someone helps.

comment How to disable Microsoft eHome MCIR Keyboard and company?
Unfortunately, I have Insyde H2O UEFI on my laptop. Like many other laptops that use that particular piece of software, all access to UEFI is disabled and in emulated BIOS there are no useful options. I even had to modify UEFI image in order to enable Intel VT-x. I strongly recommend avoiding computers which use H2O!

I was right. windows driver kit 7.1.0 does contain amd64 version of DevCon and it seems to be working. Thanks!

Seems to be close, but program says C:\devcon\i386>devcon remove circlass\irdevicev2 CIRCLASS\IRDEVICEV2\1&79F5D87&0&PORT1 : Remove failed No devices removed. Also, I have amd64 version of windows and this appears to be available only for i386 and IA64. Newer version of devcon seems to e available in windows driver kit. I'm going to get 7.1.0 and try with that version.

USB keyboard solved the problem. I still don't understand why it wouldn't detect the PS/2 internal keyboard... Everything is working fine now.

I have an Acer laptop which uses the evil Insyde H20 UEFI which doesn't have any useful settings available for user to change. I even had to modify the UEFI image in order to enable Intel VT-x. I'll try safe mode now.

I'll try now with USB keyboard. As for waiting, I waited about 5 minutes. After about two minutes the HDD LED powered down, so I thought that the check hung.
