For anyone who considers looking for my email address and emailing me about his programming problem like this guy:

I just came across your profile on Stackoverflow. I hope this isn't
too intrusive but I desperately need some help with Python.
I'm new to programming and I'm currently trying to tackle two very
basic questions which I'm seriously struggling with.

NO, I will NOT help you in private. The fact that my website is not a programming site or personal technical blog should be reason enough for you not to use its contact form (or an email listed there) to contact me.

comment Securing traffic sent over HTTP, Client side
Right now this is not a question and also completely off-topic here on Super User. However, it might fit on Information Security after some rewording to turn it into a proper question.

comment Visual studio 2012 and dropbox don't play nice together
Sounds more like something you should suggest to the dropbox devs. I don't think something like Dropbox should lock files at all - if they are modified while being synced it should handle it in a transparent way.

comment What can cause the system to freeze in a way where even the reset button takes a long time to react?
@DanielRHicks: That's what the power button does.

That's odd. Every case I bought had separate switches and every mainboard had separate connectors. The buttons also behave quite differently - the power button tells the OS to shutdown and pressing it for a few secs powers the system off without waiting for the OS. The reset button performs a reset without letting the OS perform a clean shutdown.

I'm talking about the reset button, not the power button (they go to different connectors on the mainboard). So the first part of your answer is not really applicable....

To clarify, I do not have to hold the reset button pressed. I just press it once and then release it immediately. Regarding the power issue: There are no problems while playing HD videos (using VLC) or games with full details on 1920x1200 resolution.

Well, the reset key does work - with a few-second delay. Not reacting to interrupts sounds plausible though; the power-cycle-style reset that happens after the delay could indeed by some watchdog detecting that the system is not rebooting...
